WESTBURY PARK (BS6 postcode)

Westbury Park is a suburb of Bristol located to the East of Durdham Down between the districts of Redland and Henleaze.

Westbury Park is an area very similar in character to nearby Redland and comprises mainly Victorian and early twentieth-century architecture, along with a selection of Georgian buildings. Many of these buildings still have their original house names and many Victorian artifacts have been found in the gardens of Westbury Park.

The area was once part of the parish of Westbury-on-Trym from which it takes its name.

Living in Westbury Park

Westbury Park is a rather small area of Bristol which is particularly family-friendly and provides a real sense of escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the most affluent areas of the city, Westbury Park is situated just to the east of the rolling Durdam Downs, between the districts of Redland and Henleaze.

Sandwiched between the northern edge of Redland and the southern side of Henleaze Westbury Park has long rows of Victorian built houses linking the mini-high streets of Coldharbour Road and North View.

Most properties are large terraced 4 bed homes which are well populated by families who still enjoy the buzzy, tightly knitted city vibe epitomised by these Victorian terraces. These are the last of 19th century-built homes on Bristol’s northern fringe before the city spreads out into the 1930’s-built suburbs.

Westbury Park is highly sought after due to its enviable positioning with several coveted school priority areas, with Redland Green school being one of them. It is also favoured by local residents as it is only a short waking distance to Whiteladies Road for cafes, restaurants, bars and shopping. Not to mention the 400 acre protected parkland of The Downs on your doorstep.
